Hellesdon is a long-established suburb to the north-west of Norwich, with a good spread of inter-war and post-war semi-detached housing that gives it a distinctly different character from the newer estates further out. Many of the semis along Hellesdon Road and the surrounding streets were built in the 1930s and feature original clay tile or early concrete tile roofs that are now coming to the end of their serviceable lives.
